FOG ON THE HORIZON

I will be at an Unannounced Baltimore Market this December. Mostly selling shirts, totes, pins, and stickers (cause, y’know, it’s custom szn). But I will have some new, fresh swag to pedal.

Anna von Hausswolff’s ICONOCLASTS is a sprawling, massive, cinematic truckload of music. She howls, screams, sings her heart out over opus-like tracks. Facing Atlas is the first song, and a pretty great modus operandi of the whole album.

Never heard of Bastard Cröss before. And, uhhh, yeah. This is the kinda shit I am ON. Blackened thrash, that sounds 40 years old. Crossripper is exactly as awesome as it sounds.

It’s fun and stupid but also really good. Songs about: killing priests, demons, elsewhere Demons at Midnight, headless horseman, werewolves, and (but not limited to) defacing religious symbols.

This past October was wholly gobbled up by three things:

• Preorders

• Charity

Hocus Poke-Us Debrief!

It was so good. I had to solo it, which was not ideal, but it streamlined everything. I was like a fiber art special operative. I got in! I got out! Mission: Accomplished.

It was a great show, with impeccable vibes. It had a great mix of locals and new friends. I will 1,000% do it again next year, and hopefully bring a crew.  All the people who turned up, thank you!

Jack O'Lantern Kittens are also done. I should know by now that kitten things sell crazy good. but I'm just not a cat personnnnnnnn. I like cats, and want one, but my soul is dog person. Sorry.

And - of course - the FOG Pre-Order Bonanza had come to a close. Library shirts and totes did great, Empathy shirts did *fine.* I really appreciate all the support and purchases.

Charity Debrief!

I touched on the donations from the preorder, but we donated another $100 to the public library, and $50 to the Trevor Project. Being a real G who likes to move in silence, I also donated the money from the PA Pride flag to the Trevor project as well. Don’t tell anyone.

Honestly, the reason the charity numbers weren't higher (we usually raise over double that) was because I utilized my site for preorders. This disincentivised tipping, because Square sites don’t really offer that option.

This is a problem.

Because want to present a professional, accessible storefront to people who are new to FOG. But that means less money to charity. I don't know how to solve that conundrum rn.

THATS SMALL BUSINESS, BABY!

WE STILL UP IN THIS FOOD DRIVE ISH!

We have long passed the ability to keep track of how much food we've raised. “We” being Brewing Good Coffee Co. in Savage, MD, 2nd Gear Jiu Jitsu in Laurel, MD, and me, on the internet.

We have resorted to using Subaru Outbacks as our unit of measure. We have filled - and we're talking FILLED filled - my car to the ceiling, TWICE. Food was crammed under seats, in drink holders, and in gloveboxes (that one's not true).

We have been so successful that we're staying in the game for another week at all sites. We have added a whole other set of places to donate. We will get these people food. Thank you so much for the turnout.

After that? I dunno, this charity shit feels good. Maybe something for winter?
